Alonzo Bodden was born and grew up in the suburbs of Queens, New York. "It's not quite the hood, but it played the 'hood on rap records." Bodden studied aerospace in school and became a licensed aircraft mechanic. That was his first career. Bodden worked on everything from Stealth Fighters to DC-10's to private jets, and then they started drug testing, just kidding.
Teaching aircraft mechanics led to his career in comedy. Bodden had to make the students laugh.
By the way, Bodden is single, likes jazz, and of course, long walks on the beach. He's not kidding about liking jazz. Bodden has hosted the Capital Jazz Fest in Maryland and is a regular host and performer on the Smooth Jazz Cruise hosted by Marcus Miller and Dave Koz. P.S. He's kidding about the beach. Bodden can't swim and he realizes that it's a stereotype, but "I guess sometimes they're true."
