Veteran Comedians Band Together In Response to Australian Bushfires
LOS ANGELES – On Wednesday, Oct. 30th, 2013 at 8p.m. in Hollywood the Laugh Factory will host Dom Irrera, Jim Jefferies, Bill Burr and more as comedians hold a special charity night to support the Australian Red Cross in assisting victims of a bushfire that has devastated much of New South Wales.
All proceeds for the event will be donated to the Australian Red Cross. Donations and ticket sales will help aid victims and firefighters in the emergency that began Oct. 17th and still continues. Over 208 homes have been destroyed as a result of the fires, leading to the assembly of over 1,400 volunteers and professional staff responding and providing relief.
“After hearing about the people who lost everything or suddenly had their lives changed as drastically and as quickly as they did, we had to find a way to help,” said Jamie Masada, owner and founder of the Laugh Factory. “It is a blessing to have all these supporters come together in a rush effort to provide some kind of relief – even if it is coming from a long way around the world.”
Irrera, who tours to Australia several times a year, volunteered to host the event and continues to gather friends in comedy to support Red Cross Australia and donate their talents. Tickets are available online at $20 and will be available at the box office the night of the event for first come, first serve admission.
