You might know this comedian from…
Aaron Putnam got his start in comedy while taking classes at UCB NY. He is also a graduate of David Mamet Atlantic Theatre Company’s two-year program. He found out quickly that the only drama he likes is his own, so he quit doing plays and auditioning and dove fully into improv. That’s where he learned his most important lesson to this day, and that is: to BOMB! NIGHT AFTER NIGHT! Being the real ass dude he is, he thought it was rude to take all those innocent improvisers with him, so he started doing open mic stand-up all over New York City. That was 2011—flash forward to today: Aaron Putnam is a Chicago-based comic and the founder of Stand Up in Recovery, where comics put on shows at recovery centers across the country. He has opened for Doug Stanhope, Erik Griffin, Robert Kelly, and many more. At this point you might be saying, “I wanna know about the DRAMA, the RECOVERY, etc.” The truth is that it’s downright scary on paper; but when told on stage, through a mic, it’s hilarious.
