You might know this comedian from…
Ali Drapos is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer based in Chicago. She is a regular at Laugh Factory and can frequently be seen at The Comedy Bar, Zanies, and House of Blues. Ali’s big characters and absurdist storytelling underpin sincere, personal confessions and an allegiance to genuine communication with the audience. Originally a theatre actor in NY; Ali pretended to understand Shakespeare until a British director kicked her out of rehearsal for making a fart noise with her mouth. Shortly after, she began her career in comedy as a cast member of The Second City’s Touring Company where she performed improv and sketch around the country. As a writer, Ali is a regular essayist at the acclaimed weekly ‘live newspaper’ show; Paper Machete. Her original plays have been performed at the NYC Fringe Festival, United Solo, Estrogenius (work included in published anthology) and more. Ali helps produce Diamond Comedy Hour, a monthly showcase featuring premier comedians (who just so happen to be women) from Chicago and beyond.
