Delanie Fischer View Full Bio
You might know this comedian from…
From majoring in Religious Studies in college to pursuing a comedy career, Delanie Fischer has been disappointing her parents since 2008. Delanie’s mother is convinced that she will never give her grandchildren, and is currently seeking them elsewhere. Fischer has been described as “dry, intelligent, and just the right amount of dirty” by her 87 year-old Irish grandfather. Fischer started performing in college through “Laughology,” a student-run stand-up comedy show at The University of California, Santa Barbara. With the very forceful encouragement of a couple of close friends and two shots of tequila, Delanie read jokes off of an 8.5x11 piece of paper at her first open mic. Three weeks later, she found herself performing in front of 250 of her peers at Embarcadero Hall in Isla Vista, California. Once she walked offstage, she knew she would be saying “peace out” to graduate school and “hello there” to telling jokes in front of strangers.
Fischer resides in Los Angeles and performs all over the country and internationally at clubs, colleges, festivals, military events, and theaters. She has been featured on FOX’s Laughs, NUVOtv’s Stand Up and Deliver, VH1’s Bye Felicia and Walk of Shame Shuttle, WEtv’s Sex Box, and Lifetime’s Prank My Mom. Fischer has performed in The Cabo Comedy Festival, The Idaho Laugh Fest, The San Diego Comedy Festival, and The Women in Comedy Festival—Boston. Delanie is a graduate of The Second City Hollywood Conservatory Program, and is currently co-writing and co-starring in a sketch comedy web series called Two Inches Apart with comedian Adrienne Airhart. Fischer’s sketch, Dick Food, that she co-wrote and co-starred in with Maegan Houang was accepted into Couchfest Films, HA Fest, Hell Yes Fest, Houston Comedy Film Festival, and The Laugh Or Die Comedy Fest. You can see Delanie first and third Thursdays of the month at her live comedy show, The Nine Drink Minimum, that she co-hosts and co-produces with comedian Jose Alvarez, but most importantly—catch Delanie on Monday afternoons, killin’ it in front of her bathroom mirror.
