Derek grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, where he played high school varsity basketball and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts from USC's School of Cinematic Arts in Film Production. A huge fan of SNL, and more specifically Dana Carvey, Derek has been doing impressions ever since he was 10 years old and enjoys bringing them to the stage. Derek has acted in several commercials (including Mercedes Benz, Jack in the Box, and Lowes), television shows and movies. He can be seen in the Netflix anthology series Medal of Honor, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis, and he stars in the AMC television series The Terror: Infamy, executive produced by Ridley Scott. Derek has performed stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, The Ice House in Pasadena, HaHa Comedy Club in North Hollywood, and other venues.
