You might know this comedian from…
Felipe Esparza is best known for his raw, real life comedy that all audiences can relate to. He is also known for his wild hair and his often imitated phrase, "What's up, fool?" Many people are surprised to find out that Esparza is the same person referred to, and imitated, in several onstage stories by fellow comedian, Gabriel Iglesias. Esparza is a product of the streets of East Los Angeles; Boyle Heights, to be exact. There is no subject that Esparza can't make fun of. He could stand on a stage without a single joke and make people laugh, but that won't happen. Esparza is one of the best comedy writers in the business. Give him a Tootsie Roll and he will write a five minute, gut-busting routine about it. That's the talent this young comic possesses. Esparza is one of many new comedians that got immediate television exposure when he appeared on a Showtime Diamonds in the Rough segment, just one and a half years into his stand-up career. Since that time, he has appeared on numerous television shows, including ABC's Comics Unleashed, Showtime's Comics without Borders, BET's Comicview and One Mic Stand, and Galavision's Que Locos!, where he holds the title of most appearances by any comedian. He also completed filming his first feature length film, The Deported, directed by Lance Kawas, starring Nick Turturro and Paul Rodriguez, amongst others. Esparza can be seen in comedy clubs and theaters all over the United States.
