RAY GRADY began performing comedy in 2002. Many who have seen him perform noticed his ability to make his audience find laughter in situations that many consider painful and saddening. Since his debut, he's worked alongside some of comedy's elite and has held his own. He landed his first televised performance four years after he started as a comedian on the TV One show, "Who's Got Jokes?" That same year, he was chosen to be one of the “New Faces” of Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza in Atlanta, GA. Weeks later he was also a Chicago Semi-Finalist for NBC Stand-up for Diversity.
Less than two years later he took the leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles. Soon after arriving a producer from Starz's “Martin Lawrence Presents: First Amendment Stand-Up” saw him perform at the Comedy Union and invited him to be a part of the upcoming season that was being taped. He was subsequently cast on TV One's “Love That Girl”, as well as BET's "One Mic Stand", hosted by Kevin Hart.
In early 2014, he participated in the 9th Annual CBS Diversity Comedy Showcase where he was 1 of 20 people chosen out of 5,000 applicants. In the same year, he appeared on the Game Show Network's, "Mind of a Man," hosted by Deray Davis, BET's "Comic View" hosted by Sommore and was a featured performer for the BET Awards weekend in Los Angeles. Since then, he has appeared in Three National Commercials, on Adult Swim's "Black Jesus", and landed his first Lead Role in "Then There Was Joe", Directed by USC Grad, Justin Warren.
RAY GRADY is gaining buzz as one of the hottest rising comedic stars to watch. To him, if he can make someone forget about a bill or a problem they may be having, he’s done his job. Traveling the country to perform comedy, is his passion. He's toured with fellow Comedians Tony Rock, Corey Holcomb and Mike Epps. Displaying characters that remind us of the people we see every day and telling stories that make you feel as if you are there, RAY GRADY has his own flavor. He truly believes, "if you are not somewhere laughing, you are somewhere crying."
