You might know this comedian from…

Kat Rybarski has been performing stand up comedy since 2006 and has been making a name for herself at various clubs, bars, theaters, and yes, smorgasbords, all over Chicago and the Chicagoland area. Kat started her comedy career at The Funnybone in Bloomington, IL, and after moving home to fabulous Batavia and living with her parents, she has performed at nationally recognized venues such as Zanies, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory, as well as a number of highly prestigious local establishments, like her friend’s backyard.

She is a regularly featured comedian at The Comedy Shrine, and performs at a variety of open mics and showcases. Sometimes she even gets paid in beer. In October 2007 Kat was featured in the Kane County Chronicle article "Laughing Matters", which was featured on the front page of the newspaper since it was a slow news day.

In November 2009, Kat was selected as a finalist in the Jack-N-Box comedy competition in Chicago, and was critically acclaimed as the most hilarious and good looking female comedian in the history of the contest, regardless of the fact that this was the first contest the venue had hosted, and that she was the only female participant. This venue no longer exists, despite her incredible credentials.

In October 2009, Kat also completed the improv training program at the Second City Training Center in Chicago. She then continued through the Improv Olympic Training Center in Chicago, where she graduated in January 2011. Later that year, Kat went on to score the coveted nomination for "Best Local Comedian" through SuburbaNites Magazine and advanced to a top five finalist position.

Later that year, Kat went on to score the coveted nomination for "Best Local Comedian" through SuburbaNites Magazine and advanced to a top five finalist position. She did not win, but likes to think of it as a graceful elimination, and her dad agrees that top five is still pretty darn good.

In May, (still 2011- I know, what a year, right?) Kat owned the stage for the Comedy Comedy Holiday Invitational Stand Up Contest. Kat walked away with a first place win complete with handshake, which works just as well on the trophy shelf, and you don't have to dust a handshake.

Kat is still very goal oriented, even though she has no soccer skills. Yet, what she lacks in soccer, she more than makes up for in Full House trivia, karaoke, and sweet dance moves. In 2012, she completed the Writing Program at Second City, and has recently achieved her most celebrated accomplishment of moving out of her parents' house.
