Mike Epps has generated an extraordinary amount of buzz among his peers and within the entertainment industry for being one of the funniest comic actors to emerge into the Hollywood scene. He starred in his own standup special Mike Epps Presents, and went on a national sold out comedy tour, Mike Epps & Friends. In 2011, Mike was seen starring in the Sony Pictures film Jumping the Broom.

Known for his quick wit and ability to blend hip hop audiences with comedy, Epps hosted both the 2009 and 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards to rave reviews. In 2010, Mike also starred in a standup special Mike Epps: Under-rated and Never Faded on Comedy Central and Showtime, and released his first comedy rap album called Funny Bidness: Da Album. The album features Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, and Slim Thug to name a few. That year also marked the release of his comedy DVD Funny Bidness.

Since 2000, Epps’ film roles have exploded. A native of Indiana, Epps was steadily climbed his way up the stand-up comedy ranks when he was recognized by a national audience in 1995 when he appeared on the Def Comedy Jam tour and appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam broadcasts. During a performance at LA’s Comedy Store, Epps caught the attention of Ice Cube. This led to him being cast in the co-starring role of "Day-Day" in his feature film debut, 2000’s hit comedy Next Friday. In 2002 Epps was seen starring opposite Ice Cube in New Line Cinema’s All About the Benjamins. Epps also reprised his role as "Day-Day" in Friday After Next, the third installment of the Friday series.

Movie roles flooded in from there: the Paramount comedy The Fighting Temptations, blockbuster sequels Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil: Apocalypse, as well as roles in such films as Bait, How High and the voice of Sonny in Dr. Dolittle 2.”

In September of ’05, Epps played the comedic relief as a loud-mouthed garbage man in Fox Searchlight’s Roll Bounce, a film set in the late 1970s about the roller skating lifestyle which also starred Bow Wow, Chi McBride, and Nick Cannon. Epps then went on to play a pivotal role in the Focus Features romantic comedy, Something New, starring Sanaa Lathan as a black career woman who unexpectedly finds love with a white working-class man, played by Simon Baker. Earlier that same year, Epps starred in two classic remakes -- first Epps was seen in Columbia Pictures’ well received, Guess Who, starring Ashton Kutcher and the late Bernie Mac. He then starred in Paramount Picture’s remake of The Honeymooners, in which he played comedic legend Ed Norton, alongside Cedric the Entertainer as Ralph Kramden.

2008 proved to be an impressive year for Epps. He appeared in the Universal Studios ensemble comedy Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, opposite Martin Lawrence, James Earl Jones and Joy Bryant. He also appeared in the indie-film The Grand, directed by Zak Penn and starring Woody Harrelson and Cheryl Hines, as well as MGM’s Soul Men, Sony Pictures’ Hancock and Open Season 2 in which he lends his voice.

In 2009, Epps starred opposite Mos Def and Donald Faison in the dark comedy, Next Day Air, from Summit Entertainment. In 2010, Epps was seen in the Warner Bros. film Lottery Ticket also starring Ice Cube, and Bow Wow, and appeared in the action-thriller Faster starring Dwayne Johnson. He also made a hilarious cameo in the mega-hits The Hangover and The Hangover III.

With a career that expands from standup comedy to tv to film to hosting, standup, Mike’s current success is hard earned and well deserved.
