Born and raised in Chicago, Suzy Nakamura began her career in the touring company of The Second City and later opened the first two shows at The Second City Detroit. After moving to Los Angeles, she began guest starring on television, eventually landing recurring roles on "The West Wing" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

Nakamura has appeared in over 100 television episodes. She has been a series regular on shows such as “Go On,” opposite Matthew Perry, and “Help Me Help You” with Ted Danson, and recurred on numerous episodic series, including “The Goldbergs,” “Modern Family,” and “Men of a Certain Age.” Suzy has guest starred on “Veep,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Castle,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Bones,” among others.

She most recently appeared opposite Chris Pine in the feature film “Horrible Bosses 2.” Other film credits include the notable independents “Strawberry Fields” (Official Selection Venice Int’l Film Festival and the Grand Prix Prize at the Fukuoka Asian Film Festival), “Treasure Island” (Sundance Special Jury Prize and Independent Spirit Awards nominee), “American Zombie” (Slamdance Film Festival and SXSW), Mike Figgis’ “Timecode” with Salma Hayek and Leslie Mann, “Harmony and Me” opposite Kevin Corrigan (NDNF and Sundance Annenberg Fellowship Grant recipient), and “Afternoon Delight” (Sundance) for director Jill Soloway.

In her spare time, Suzy volunteers with Food on Foot, an organization dedicated to providing the homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and housing. She also makes regular appearances in various improvisational and sketch comedy shows around Los Angeles.
