Mustapha El Atrassi
Mustapha El Atrassi was born on August 30th, 1985, in Saint Doulchard, France. The TNS Sofres & Logica Survey in Stratégie from February 25, 2010, claims that at only 25 years old, El Atrassi is already one of France’s most celebrated comedians. Since 2008, he has co-hosted the #1 morning show in France on NRJ Radio, with over three million listeners every day. He also hosts a weekly television talk show called La nuit nous appartient (“We Own the Night”), that airs on the French television networks Comédie! and NRJ12. On his show, El Atrassi has hosted a myriad of international celebrities, including 50 Cent, David Guetta, Denzel Washington, Will Smith, and Katy Perry.
He wrote his first one man show at the age of 16, and performed it at Le Point Virgule comedy club. Two years later, he was a finalist in a national contest for comedians held by the Moroccan television channel, 2M, called 15 ans, 15 talents (“15 Years, 15 Talents”). The exposure he received led to a lead role on the Moroccan sitcom, R'BIB, which became a huge success and made him a national celebrity in Morocco at only 18 years old.
With the success of his sitcom, he moved back to France in 2006, and began doing features on two separate shows on the channel France 2, Laurent Ruquier’s On a tout essayé (“We’ve Tried Everything”) and On n'est pas couché (“We’re Not in Bed Yet”).
In September 2007, El Atrassi accompanied Ruquier on his new adventure, the France 2 show, On n'a pas tout dit (“We Haven't Said Everything”) where he did stand up live every night, in front of four million viewers.
In January 2008, he left On n'a pas tout dit to join Salut les terriens (“Hello Earthlings”), a Canal+ show hosted by Thierry Ardisson.
In September 2008, he took up a new challenge in co-hosting the NRJ Radio morning show with Florian Gazan and Nikos Aliagas, which he continues to do to this day. Soon after, he began hosting his own late night show, La nuit nous appartient. Aside from hosting his successful radio and television shows, El Atrassi loves doing stand up. He performs his own show called Mustapha, in Paris, which he has performed at many of France’s top theaters, including l’Olympia, La Cigale, and the Temple Theater.
